Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary

The Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a 2 square kilometer wildlife sanctuary located roughly 20 miles away from Mysore, containing at least a dozen different bird species in their natural habitat. A boat ride brings visitors within viewing distance of thes birds, which live and feed on various tiny islands on the water.

Birds perched on a nearby rock, along with a shot of the oar of the boat.

An alligator cruising the water.

The rest of these pictures are of various birds that I knew the specific names of immediately after the boat ride, but can no longer recall. If you happen to know more details about any of the birds picture below, feel free to comment and I will add captions to these pictures. There are various website detailing species found in the sanctuary, along with some accompanying pictures...but matching them up is somewhat tedious.

[Edit: I've added identities alongside some of these as a result of Iris's suggestions.]

Looks like a snowy egret

Might be a snowy egret
